The
project brings together mutually independent legal entities established in 6 EU
Member States, namely, Spain, Greece, UK, Portugal, Italy and Cyprus.
i-SeT Consortium is built according to the, so called, ‘best-of-breed’
partnering approach in which companies are partnering and each participating
company takes its position in the business based on its core competency. In
that respect, the project brings together private sector partners, with genuine
commercial interest in e-business solutions for SMEs, prestigious academic
organisations with proven expertise in e-tourism and a group of pilot users in
4 European countries with quite advanced expertise in tourism industry that
wish to test and adopt an integrated e-tourism practice. This promotes
interconnection of entities of the value chain of the tourism processes, and,
hence, ensuring the sustainability of the service after the EC funding has
finished.
The partners represent a good mixture of countries, having major differences on
issues such as ICT maturity, e-business development etc. Pilots and market
validation in different countries will assess peculiarities and differences in
order to assist on its EU-wide perspective. This diverse sample of countries
represented in the Consortium will be a valuable asset for useful lessons and
practices, at least for the final deployment plan.
The “core” team of the project consists of partners with specific competencies
related to the design of ICT technologies (i.e. Deloitte Business Solutions SA,
the Project Coordinator, and GLOBO), of their technical development and
diffusion (Deloitte Business Solutions - Portugal), and of Europe-wide
marketing and business evaluation processes (i.e. Bournemouth University).
Moreover, there are 4 pilot partners representing a group of 100 Small &
Medium Hospitality Organisations where the service is going to be validated
through real pilots. More precisely, the pilot users consist of:
25 SMHOs
from AGROTOURISTIKI S.A. in Greece,
25 SMHOs
from DIGIPRO in Cyprus 25 SMHOs
from the Valencia Foundation in Spain, 25
SMHOs from Provincia di Brescia in Italy
